Engagement portrait in San Francisco

Lisa & Tommy chose classic San Francisco backdrops for their portrait. I love how relaxed they look with each other.

Portrait at the Cape

Capturing both the energy and individuality of siblings alone and in a group is one of the most interesting elements of doing family portraits. I waited until the end of the day, when I knew the light would be the softest and most flattering. We had the beach mostly to ourselves.

A Wedding at the Four Seasons in San Francisco

Ilana & Reed celebrated their wedding at the Four Seasons in San Francisco. I had photographed Ilana's older sister's wedding and I always enjoy working with past clients again. It was fun to see Julie's children and document how closely knit their family is. While photographing, I am inspired by my clients - what their story might be, what their connection is to each other. They had a traditional Jewish wedding and I love the all the rituals, including unveiling the bride and the family dancing - it's a priviledge to witness. Ilana wore special jewels from her grandmother and incorporated beautiful elements in the wedding ceremony. Reed's mother painted the ketubah. The love and strength supporting this couple was palpable.

David Robinson at the Four Seasons is wonderfully gracious to work with and Linda Noack coordinated the festive day. The flowers were by Laurel Winzler - I particularly liked what she created for Julie's daughter, the flower girl.
