Portrait of Luc
When I arrived, Luc was being fed - a well fed child makes for a good portrait. I had photographed Emma & Eric's wedding and it was great to meet their handsome son. Emma wanted an image similar to something done of her when she had been a baby. Their dog Nefi didn't understand what the fuss was over Luc - as he had come first.

Portrait of a young rapper
A young James Dean for the new millenium. The fog partially obscures the bridge, setting a moody tone for the image. The detail on the car adds another element to give more context to the portrait. I continue to be intrigued by what kids show of who they are and how expressive they can be of different parts of their personality.

A Wedding at the Carneros Inn Napa Valley CA
Margaret & Scott

Margaret had some of the most gorgeous shoes I've ever seen - I just loved the feather detail.

Her bouquet, done by Julie's Flowers, was so fresh and lovely with the touch of mint included.

The bride and groom walking through the orchard after the ceremony. It's always such a pleasure working with Brooke Baglietto at Carneros. I know the events will be elegant, fun, and seamlessly put together.

The apples added a simple and pretty element to the table display of placecards.

Jenne Hohn, who brings a wonderfully calm presence to any event, was the planner.

I found the floral patterned uplighting both abstract and magical.

Napa wedding
Laura and Rich married at one of the prettiest churches in Napa. They continued their celebration at a private estate close by, surrounded by friends and family. The view was both serene and spectacular. After an intimate dinner in the wine cave, the guests danced on the terrace under the lanterns and stars.

A Wedding at the Four Seasons in San Francisco
Ilana & Reed celebrated their wedding at the Four Seasons in San Francisco. I had photographed Ilana's older sister's wedding and I always enjoy working with past clients again. It was fun to see Julie's children and document how closely knit their family is. While photographing, I am inspired by my clients - what their story might be, what their connection is to each other. They had a traditional Jewish wedding and I love the all the rituals, including unveiling the bride and the family dancing - it's a priviledge to witness. Ilana wore special jewels from her grandmother and incorporated beautiful elements in the wedding ceremony. Reed's mother painted the ketubah. The love and strength supporting this couple was palpable.
David Robinson at the Four Seasons is wonderfully gracious to work with and Linda Noack coordinated the festive day. The flowers were by Laurel Winzler - I particularly liked what she created for Julie's daughter, the flower girl.
